The Family Who Didn’t Think They Could Afford High Scores

Sinclaire J. had all the pieces of her college application put together except one: her SAT prep.

Sinclaire is a high achiever according to any definition. She has a 4.33 average at her Virginia high school, she’s incredibly interested in science and STEM, and her dream schools all rank in the top 20 American universities. Sinclaire continued:

“I started in 9th grade and studied for a few months. I made a plan and had a few things to do each day. After I took my first test in the spring, I knew I would study over the summer and get ready for the second test in October. So I picked it back up in the summer before sophomore year and took the October test. I was amazed at my results! I couldn’t believe it worked so well for me and that I was done so early! What a relief!”

Over the course of one summer, Sinclaire transformed her scores from a 1960 to a 2200, achieving a 99th percentile score by the fall of her sophomore year. She can now spend the rest of her high school career focusing on the countless other obligations that she needs to meet to achieve admission to the country’s best schools, knowing that her scores are high enough to achieve admission at all the best colleges in the country.

But for Sinclaire, who no longer needs to worry about her SATs, the benefits keep on coming:

We asked Sinclaire if she had any advice to other students like her:
