    You should never take both tests. Instead, pick one test and stick with it. It’s important to realize that colleges don’t prefer one test to the other – they use them in the exact same way, so all you need to do is take the test that will give you the highest comparative score. Getting similar scores on the SAT and ACT is like telling someone that you’re 6 feet tall and 2 yards tall – it’s exactly the same information, even if you’re technically giving different metrics. Your best bet: figure out which test is best for you, then focus on it until you have the scores you need.
