The SAT Subject Tests are very different from the SAT 1 and the ACT. They’re 60-minute exams that test your knowledge in a very straightforward, factual manner, and unlike the SAT and ACT, they involve almost no strategy or “test taking skills.” For instance, the SAT US History Subject Test will ask questions such as: “what year did X happen?” and “who passed this bill?” Most competitive colleges require TWO SAT Subject Tests, and while they’re not nearly as important as the SAT 1 and the ACT, they’re still a relatively large factor in your overall application mix.
