If you want to compile a fantastic college application, you need high exam scores in order to compete for those small number of admission tickets that are going to be handed out by schools. In order to get those impressive scores, you first need to decide which test to take and then focus only on that one test!

These tests each have their own set of challenges, and in order to master them, students need to stay focused on only one set of material. So while the general line is usually to “try out both tests,” Anthony has discovered over his 15,000 hours of tutoring that trying to prepare for both tests is extremely detrimental to overall success.

It should be also noted that colleges do not “prefer” one test over the other. A decade ago many schools might have had a preference, but in today’s competitive landscape, both tests are seen as rigorous.
