Anthony strongly discourages students from taking official tests “just to see how they do.” You can get a very accurate idea of how your child is scoring by taking an exam at home, on your own time. You can easily get your hands on the official exams and grading rubrics provided by the College Board and the ACT without walking into a testing center. These are real tests, and if taken under realistic conditions (something our program teaches students how to do), you’ll have a very accurate idea of where your child is scoring. From there, you should schedule an official test only at a date when your child is on track to hit his or her target. You can learn more about taking an at-home diagnostic test here, and you can learn how to set your target scores here.
