    You have nothing to lose by taking the PSAT in your Sophomore year!  It’s a great way to practice taking tests and it doesn’t affect any college applications.  Taking the PSAT give you a chance to experience the testing environment with no downside.

    Only the PSAT taken in your Junior year affects you. Junior year PSAT determines if you qualify for the National Merit Scholarship or not.  If you are interested in qualifying, the Sophomore year PSAT is a great way to get started!  Check out our full PSAT guide for more information!
