    Yes and no. You should keep taking PRACTICE TESTS until you get the score you want, THEN go into the real thing and take it then. If you learn how to take a proper, timed, graded diagnostic test from real ACT and College Board materials, there’s no need to take the official test to figure out how you’re going to score – your practice test results will be within 3-4% of where you’re actually scoring on the real thing! NEVER take a real test if your practice test scores aren’t up to snuff – I’ve never seen a student “surprise himself” by getting a way higher score on the real thing than he does on his practice exams. If you do take a few official tests, it’s not the end of the world, but it’s much smarter to learn how to take practice tests and figure it out on your own without logging official scores.
